Survey images & CAD underlays
If you have a survey, you can trace over it instead of (or as well as) the map. Airship accepts both a scanned/exported image and a proper CAD file.
Survey image
Use survey image to load a JP/PNG of a topo or site plan. Set its opacity so you can see your drawing over it, then calibrate the scale (below) and trace the boundary.
CAD underlay (DXF / DWG)

Load a CAD file (DXF, or DWG which is converted automatically) as a true vector underlay. You get:
- Opacity β fade the underlay under your design.
- Units β tell Airship whether the file is in millimetres, metres or feet so it scales correctly.
- Scale (π) β click two points a known distance apart to set the real-world scale precisely.
- Layers β show or hide individual CAD layers.
- Unload β remove the underlay.
Your drawing tools snap to the CAD linework, so you can trace boundaries and existing features accurately.
Tip. For a DWG, Airship converts it to DXF in the cloud before loading β give it a few seconds on a large file.
